What’s your go to seasoning? Mine has to be ranch. You can put that stuff on everything, not the dressing I much prefer the seasoning packet. It’s so versatile you can season your meat, popcorn, baked potato, and of course, oyster crackers. You know, the things that are served with chowder and stew? It’s sort of like the American version of fried wonton except these aren’t quite as satisfying unless you pour a package of ranch seasoning over top of them with dill and hot pepper flakes. Yum! I’d have to say these are my favorite alternative to Chex mix. These are actually much more simple than Chex mix because you don’t have to go out and buy three boxes of cereal along with bags of add ins. This recipe is much less tedious. In fact, you don’t even have to preheat your oven. You just place a few ingredients in a bag and shake!
5 cups or a 10oz bag of oyster crackers
¼ cup canola oil
1 ounce of ranch dressing seasoning mix
½ teaspoon dillweed
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
Place the oyster crackers into a large gallon bag. Pour in the oil and shake to cover each cracker. Pour in the ranch dressing seasoning mix along with the other spices. Do this in little sections so you can shake the back and coat each cracker evenly.
